FOR CHRISTINE:
Christine,
If you're reading this then I really am truly sorry.
I hope where ever I am, that I'm in the process of trying to get back to you and everybody else and I assure you that I am trying my hardest to find my way back. I hoped you'd never have cause to have to read this. If I have returned to my own universe please remember that you have been one of my closest friends for such a long time now. I don't think I could have survived Bete Noire without you.
I will always consider you my sister. Please do as you have always done and don't give up hope. You aren't you without hope. I can only wish that your level-headedness and calm manner can guide the rest of them into peaceable and sensible solutions. They're my family and you are too. Please be good to each other and let them help you. Don't be afraid to be vulnerable. And if you need me, talk to Ben or Hikaru. They know me the best.
I will see you soon.
Pasha.
☺
FOR BEN:
Benjamin,
If you're reading this then it means I haven't been able to find a way back to you yet.
I'm sorry.
I promise I'm going to get back as soon as I can. I won't waste either of our times with any long ridiculous goodbyes. This isn't a goodbye at all. This is a promise that if you're reading this, then I am trying my hardest to return to your side at this very moment. Hopefully you shouldn't have to wait much longer.
Hikaru, Jane and Christine will look after you in my absence but you have to look after yourself as well. You need to be as smart, careful and safe as you can be. You can't let yourself get caught up on looking for me. Look after yourself first and I will find a way back to you. Be good. Don't start any fights you can't handle. If I find out you slipped back into old habits while I was gone, I will personally kill you when I'm returned. You're better than that. You're a survivor and you can survive living without me for a short while, I believe in you. I'll be back soon.
I promise.
Pasha.
FOR RUSH:
Doctor Rush,
I'm sorry that you have had to receive this letter. I asked Christine that on the happen-stance of my disappearance for a longer period than one standard week that she would deliver this to you and to other people that I care deeply for.
Firstly, I would like to offer you my thanks. For being both my friend and my mentor and for being a surrogate father to me. You can't understand how much I appreciated you being what you were to me. As I said not that long ago, you remind me of my father and I hope that in what hopefully will be a short absence that you will act as such towards the rest of my family. Christine, Ben, Hikaru and Jane need somebody to keep them from doing something stupid. Particularly the latter three. They're soldiers and forget to think before acting. I worry that in my absence they might try to kick off something bigger than what the Nysgods already have going on.
Secondly, my apologies. I intend to return as swiftly as I can but I am uncertain how soon that will be. I hope that you'll forgive my disappearance. If you're reading this it is far longer than I have ever been gone before. If I am in another world, I shall try my best to return swiftly.
Please don't worry. I'll be back soon.
Pasha.
FOR JANE:
You have to look after them. All of them.
These are my people and they have been for a long time now. I expect that you'll care for them and ensure their safety. Don't be foolhardy and think before you do anything that might endanger them. I will return soon.
I'm trusting you this time.
Pasha.
FOR HIKARU:
Karu,
If you're reading this I have been gone for over a week. I won't waste my time writing some long convoluted letter to you, although letters are a Russian invention, because I will be back as soon as I can. Please make sure that Ben doesn't fall into destructive habits. When I first met him, he was a drug addict. He struggles with it when I am not there to support him or when we fight. He's been without it for some time now but I fear since I have been gone long enough for this letter to be given to you that he might soon be tempted into his old ways.
Most importantly you need to keep your optimism. Don't stop looking for a way home because I am gone. You need to keep yourself safe and you need to ensure that everybody else stays safe as well. Use your brain and be smart, Karu. I'll be back soon.
Love from
Your Pasha.
